Treatment options

  • Biopsy

    From $250

    A shave or punch biopsy when tissue assessment is recommended.

    When a lesion needs further assessment, a shave or punch biopsy may be recommended. The procedure is planned by our Nurse Practitioner, with clear consent, wound-care instructions and follow-up of the laboratory result.

  • Skin excision

    From $450

    Surgical excision is the standard first-line treatment for most skin cancers, including BCC, SCC, and melanoma.

    The procedure involves removing the lesion along with a margin of healthy surrounding tissue, which is then sent for histological analysis to confirm complete clearance.

    Excision at SkinSure is performed under local anaesthetic in a clinical setting.

  • Cryotherapy

    From $POA – an accurate quote will be provided after clinical assessment.

    Cryotherapy uses liquid nitrogen to freeze and destroy abnormal skin cells. It is a quick, effective treatment for:

    • Actinic keratoses

    • Seborrhoeic keratoses

    • Selected superficial skin lesions

    The procedure is performed in-clinic with no anaesthetic required and minimal downtime.

  • Topical Treatments

    From $POA – an accurate quote will be provided after clinical assessment.

    For certain types of skin cancer and pre-cancerous lesions, topical (cream-based) treatments are an effective, non-surgical option.

    These include treatments for:

    • Actinic keratoses (sun-damaged pre-cancerous patches)

    • Superficial basal cell carcinoma (BCC)

    • Squamous cell carcinoma in situ (Bowen's disease)

    Commonly used agents include imiquimod and 5-fluorouracil (5-FU). Your clinician will advise whether topical treatment is appropriate based on the type, size, and location of your lesion.

  • Referrals

    From $POA – an accurate quote will be provided after clinical assessment.

    Not all skin cancers can be managed in a primary care clinic setting.

    Where specialist input is required — such as for high-risk BCC or SCC, confirmed invasive melanoma, or complex cases — Skinsure will coordinate prompt referral to the appropriate specialist service, including dermatology, plastic surgery, or other relevant services.

    We work collaboratively with your GP and specialist team to ensure seamless, timely care.

  • A Spot Check is limited to the selected lesions.

    A Full Skin Check is the systematic whole-body assessment pathway.

  • Both include clinical assessment and targeted imaging.

    SkinSure 3D Baseline also creates a standardised whole-body 3D image record designed to support future comparison.

  • It is the return pathway for patients who already have a SkinSure 3D Baseline.

    A new standardised image set is captured and reviewed alongside the earlier clinical record.

  • A Registered Nurse completes the approved imaging workflow and quality checks.

    The Nurse Practitioner completes the clinical review, plan and sign-off.

  • Appointments are from 35 minutes for focused checks to 75 minutes for the 3D Baseline. Appointment length confirmation with be confirmed upon booking.

  • You will be asked to undress to your underwear. Gowns are provided.

  • We can often give skin check results at the initial screening appointment. For more complex lesions we ask for a weeks turn-around in order to provide relevant time for accurate diagnosis.

  • Generally, no.

    Biopsy and excision follow clinical assessment and recommendation. Existing patients with an agreed plan can contact the clinic to arrange the procedure.

  • These are confirmed on a case by case basis. Your nurse will provide an accurate quote at the appointment when reviewing your personalised treatment plan.
